3. Enrollment & Eligibility

To enroll in Patriot CDL training programs, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (21 for interstate or hazmat-related endorsements)
  • Hold a valid, non-commercial driver’s license issued in the United States
  • Pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical medical examination conducted by a certified medical examiner
  • Obtain or be in the process of obtaining a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) as required

Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of a deposit or tuition payment as outlined in your enrollment agreement. Patriot CDL reserves the right to refuse enrollment to any applicant who does not meet eligibility requirements.

Students are responsible for ensuring they meet all applicable FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and Pennsylvania DMV requirements. Patriot CDL does not guarantee that a student will pass their CDL skills test.

4. Tuition, Fees & Payment

Tuition rates and payment plans are provided at the time of enrollment and are detailed in the Student Enrollment Agreement. Key terms include:

  • A minimum down payment (as low as $500) is required to confirm enrollment and reserve a training slot
  • The remaining balance is due according to the payment schedule outlined in your enrollment agreement
  • Accepted payment methods include cash, check, money order, and major credit/debit cards
  • Tuition does not typically include DMV test fees, CLP fees, DOT medical exam fees, or any state-required fees, unless explicitly stated in your enrollment agreement
  • Returned checks or failed electronic payments may result in additional fees
Financing

Patriot CDL may offer in-house payment plans. Details of any financing arrangement will be provided in writing and incorporated into the enrollment agreement. We are not responsible for third-party financing arrangements.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please review this section carefully before enrolling. Our refund policy is governed by applicable Pennsylvania state regulations for private vocational schools.

The following cancellation and refund terms apply:

  • Cancellation before training begins: Students who cancel their enrollment before the program start date are entitled to a full refund of any tuition paid, minus a non-refundable registration fee as specified in the enrollment agreement.
  • Cancellation within 3 days of signing: Students have the right to cancel their enrollment agreement within three (3) business days of signing without penalty (right of rescission). All payments made will be refunded in full.
  • Withdrawal after training begins: If a student withdraws after training has begun, a pro-rated refund will be calculated based on the percentage of the program completed, minus any applicable administrative fees.
  • No-shows and absences: Tuition is not refunded for missed classes or training sessions. Students are responsible for arranging make-up sessions, subject to availability.
  • Dismissal for cause: Students dismissed due to violation of conduct policies are not entitled to a refund.

To initiate a cancellation, contact us in writing at the number or address provided below. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of a valid cancellation request.

6. Student Conduct

All students are expected to maintain professional conduct throughout their training. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Reporting to training under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any controlled substance
  • Unsafe operation of any training vehicle
  • Harassment, threatening behavior, or discrimination toward instructors, staff, or fellow students
  • Damage to or theft of company property or training vehicles
  • Falsification of any documents related to training or licensing

Patriot CDL reserves the right to immediately suspend or dismiss any student who violates these conduct standards. Students are responsible for any damage to training equipment or vehicles caused by their negligence or misconduct.

All students must comply with applicable traffic laws, FMCSA regulations, and instructor directives at all times during training.

7. Limitation of Liability

No Guarantee of Employment: Job placement assistance is provided as a courtesy. Patriot CDL does not guarantee employment, specific wages, or placement with any particular carrier. Employment outcomes depend on individual performance, market conditions, and employer requirements.

No Guarantee of Test Passage: Patriot CDL does not guarantee that any student will pass the CDL knowledge or skills tests administered by the Pennsylvania DMV or any other state agency.

Limitation of Damages: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Patriot CDL’s total liability to any student for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the total tuition paid by that student for the specific program in question.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Patriot CDL, its instructors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of our services or your violation of these Terms.
