Registration has opened for the 2027 Best Fleets to Drive For Education and Awards Conference, scheduled for April 5-6 at The Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. FleetOwner reported October 12 that the two-day event will focus on practices for improving safety, training, driver experience and fleet operations.
The program is built around findings from the annual Best Fleets to Drive For evaluation, which combines fleet responses with driver surveys. Attendees will review program data and hear current and past winners explain the policies and operating practices that have worked inside their organizations. Registration is open even to fleets that do not participate in the awards program.
The event will recognize the Top 20 Best Fleets, Hall of Fame members and Fleets to Watch. Organizers also plan to announce overall winners in the large-fleet, small-fleet and Hall of Fame categories. Nominations for the 2027 Best Fleets to Drive For program remain open through October 31, giving drivers and carriers a limited window to participate.
For fleet leaders, the value is not only the awards. Driver feedback can reveal whether recruiting promises match daily operations, where training needs improvement and which policies create avoidable turnover. Carriers considering attendance should identify two or three measurable problems before the conference, such as onboarding completion, preventable incidents or home-time reliability. Drivers can review the program's recognized employers as one input when comparing jobs, while still confirming pay, routes, equipment and policies directly.
