CAT Scale App Adds Multi Service Fuel Card Payments for In-Cab Weighing

Drivers using CAT Scale's Weigh My Truck mobile app can now pay with a Multi Service Fuel Card, expanding the payment options available for in-cab weighing. The app lets a driver initiate the weigh, pay and receive the result on a smartphone without entering the scale house for the standard transaction.

The workflow can reduce steps during a busy fuel or rest stop. Drivers may receive scale information in the app and send a PDF ticket or weight-data text file to designated recipients. That makes it easier to share documentation with dispatch, safety or billing teams while the truck is still at the location. The service also uses current location information to connect the driver with the appropriate scale.

Digital convenience does not change the driver's responsibility for legal axle and gross weight. Before leaving the scale, drivers should verify that the displayed tractor, trailer and axle groups match the equipment, confirm the ticket belongs to the correct trip and review every weight. Any overload or questionable reading should be resolved through cargo adjustment and a reweigh rather than treated as an administrative issue.

Fleets adopting the payment option should define who may use the card, how receipts are submitted and how transactions are reconciled. Drivers should protect app and fuel-card credentials, avoid sharing one-time codes and use only official software downloads. A saved electronic ticket can speed paperwork, but carriers should retain records according to company and customer requirements.
