Commercial drivers using the Del Rio International Bridge should plan around a temporary traffic pause on Friday, September 11. TheTrucker.com reported September 7 that U.S. Customs and Border Protection expects to stop all vehicular and pedestrian traffic at approximately 7 a.m. for a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

CBP said traffic is expected to resume at approximately 8 a.m. The notice applies to the bridge crossing at Del Rio, Texas, and includes commercial vehicles during the announced window. The timing is an estimate rather than a guaranteed reopening minute, because event operations and on-site conditions can affect when traffic begins moving again.

A one-hour closure can create a longer queue after lanes reopen, especially when trucks, passenger vehicles and pedestrians arrive near the same time. The notice does not change customs documentation, cargo inspection requirements or drivers' hours-of-service obligations. It is a short operational interruption, not a new border rule or permanent schedule change.
